MONTHLY CLUBS
BOOK CLUBS (BBC1 and BBC2)
Each member has the opportunity to choose a book and host a meeting.
BBC1 meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month in the evening.
BBC2 meets on the Friday in the week of the WI meeting in the afternoon.
Both meetings are very informal, to discuss and review the 'book of the month', over a glass of wine (or two) or a cup of tea, in the home of the host.
We cover a huge range of genres and authors. Not only do we enjoy getting together to discuss our chosen book, we have a good laugh, natter and put the world to rights.

COFFEE & CHAT
An opportunity to meet up once a month at convenient locations to enjoy a coffee and a chat - with a pastry of course!
The member who organises the event that month chooses the venue which may be a garden centre, always very popular, a cafe in town or, occasionally, a pub.
In June we went for Afternoon Tea at The Talbot in Ripley instead of morning coffee (see picture).
WALKING GROUP
Our walking group meet most months for a leisurely walk. This may be in the local area or slightly further afield. It is usually about 2-3 miles long and includes a refreshment stop either midway or at the end of the walk.
The person leading the walk chooses the route and the refreshment stop.
LADIES WHO LUNCH
A group of our ladies regularly meet for lunch, a favourite venue being Lakeside restaurant at Surrey University where a 3-course lunch costs from as little as £25.
Other lunch destinations include The Jovial Sailor, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, The Farmhouse and King William 4th pub.
Our lunches are casual and often partners and friends can come along too.

THE KNITTERS
This group formed in 2024, initially spurred by a request in SWIN, for Trauma Teddies
for the Fire Brigade. Our teddies were delivered to both Guildford and Woking Fire Stations.
Our next project was a postbox topper, which depicted Burpham's famous Green Man, for the postbox in the Burpham Shops parade. Then came a summer flower topper and see picture for our current Autumn topper!
We also make knitted toys and other items to be sold at the shop in Royal Surrey County Hospital.
We have knitted 100 mini hats for Innocent bottles as part of the Age UK Campaign to reach a total of 22,000 hats The bottles with the hats on will be in the shops in October.
TENPIN BOWLING
This year, 2025, we started a new group event. After a fun, post-Christmas get-together for a game of tenpin bowling at The Spectrum, we decided it would be a good idea if we made this a regular event too. Our next session will be on Tuesday 7th October - 6.45 for 7pm.
